BENEWAH: Time to choose

| September 23, 2018 1:00 AM

Residents of Benewah County, this November election for county commissioners is an important one! If an elected commissioner’s term is vacated, either by an untimely death or early retirement before their term is completed, apparently the governor can appoint a replacement to fill out the term.

Do we as residents of this county want a politician who is more than 300 miles removed from the will of the county residents to appoint a politically placed replacement not voted in by county residents? I for one do not.

There are many issues involved in Benewah County at present, from repealing redundant and burdensome regulations, placing county-owned parcels back on the tax rolls, and attracting non-polluting, light businesses to contribute to the financial base, which benefits local businesses and local employment alike.

Let’s let the governor attend to business in Boise. Let county residents, with their vote, decide what is good and right for Benewah County.
