United Way grant applications now available

| September 22, 2018 1:00 AM

United Way of North Idaho is now accepting grant applications from nonprofits seeking funding for 2019.

Nonprofits are eligible to apply if they are operating in the five northern counties of Idaho and their work aligns with United Way’s impact areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability. Grant awards typically range from $2,500 to $10,000. Applications are accepted through Monday, Oct. 15.

“United Way is committed to creating lasting change with measurable improvements for people in North Idaho, envisioning a thriving community where all adults and children have access to quality education, financial stability, and good health, which are the building blocks to self-sufficiency and a high quality of life,” said an announcement of the grant opportunities.

“As part of that commitment, United Way of North Idaho invests in high performing programs and services that align with its strategic priorities.”

The Community Care Fund is donor-designated funds directed toward quality local programs that benefit communities in the five counties it serves. Funding is granted through a competitive application process.

Investing in local nonprofits is a standard of United Ways across the nation.

“In North Idaho, our focus is on the ALICE population — those individuals who are employed but struggling to make ends meet—and being able to capture data that shows the return on social investment we are collectively achieving,” said board co-chair Marie Price.
