Trojans fall at Kentridge

KENT, Wash. — The Post Falls Trojans began their weekend in the Seattle area with a challenging match against the Kentridge Chargers, losing 25-19, 25-23, 25-10 on Friday evening.

“Kentridge is a pretty tough team, and we held our own with them for the first two sets,” Post Falls coach Matt Barkley said. “It was a good match for us to play and get us ready for tomorrow’s tournament.”

Maya Blake had nine kills to lead the Trojans (6-5), while Tessa Sarff added six kills and five blocks. Courtney Finney had 17 assists and two aces, Rylee Hartwig had five blocks, and Ali Carpenter had 19 digs.

Post Falls competes in the Kent Classic tournament today at Kentwood High School.

SPOKANE — Josie Scribner had 17 kills, nine digs, one block and one ace for the Jaguars in a 25-9, 25-9, 21-25, 25-10 win over the Dragons in a nonleague match.

“Our serving was really aggressive tonight,” Genesis Prep coach Paula Thurston said.

Rachel Schroeder had 10 kills, three digs and three aces, Emily Martinez 25 assists, five aces, Jayci Blood 10 digs and five aces, Trinity Morrow five digs and two aces for Genesis Prep (3-2), which hosts Clark Fork today at Post Falls Middle School starting at 12:30 p.m.
