Dean helps IML-leading Timberlake sweep Kellogg

SPIRIT LAKE — Kenzie Dean had 14 digs, seven kills and three assists as the Intermountain League-leading Tigers beat the visiting Wildcats 25-20, 25-16, 25-23.

Brooke Jessen had 11 kills and four blocks for Timberlake (13-4, 3-0 IML). McKeeley Tonkin had 12 assists and seven digs, Kylie Marneris 17 digs, Ashlyn Mallet seven kills.

Timberlake travels to Bonners Ferry on Tuesday.

For Kellogg, Cierra Brandt had 11 kills and three blocks, Erin VanHoose 17 digs, Hailey Cheney eight kids, Jaron Figueroa 10 digs, Kat Rauenhorst three blocks.

ST. MARIES — The host Lumberjacks avenged an earlier loss to the Maniacs, winning 26-24, 25-21, 25-22 in Central Idaho League play.

Kaci Haeg had nine kills for St. Maries (9-8, 1-1 CIL). Dakotah Wilks had 31 assists, Jayden Martin 11 digs, Madison Cordell two blocks.

Orofino beat the Lumberjacks in five sets on Sept. 6 in Orofino.

St. Maries travels to Kellogg on Tuesday.

PLUMMER — Tenley Lambert had six kills, 15 digs and four aces for the Knights in a 25-18, 25-20, 25-6 win over the Warriors in a North Star League match at Ron Miller Court.

“Tenley was probably our most consistent player tonight,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “Our first two sets, we didn’t play up to our standards, but she passed the ball very well and got to the balls that weren’t directly hit at someone.”

Glory Olson had seven kills and five aces and Alyssa SiJohn had 21 assists and five aces for Lakeside (3-4, 2-3 NSL), which faces North Idaho Christian on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d’Alene.

Kootenai (2-6, 1-3) travels to Clark Fork on Tuesday.

COEUR d’ALENE — Megan MacKinney had 10 kills and five aces for the host Panthers, who had to fight off the tough-serving Royals of the Mountain Christian League for a 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18 nonleague win at Holy Family Catholic School.

Taylor Peterson had five kills and three aces for Coeur d’Alene Charter (6-4). Mackenzie Simkins had 24 assists, Rylee Peterson six kills, Madi Kociela five kills and two blocks, Chloe Turnbull seven kills and two blocks.

“They were great servers; they were the best serving team we’ve seen so far,” Charter coach Cindy Beyer said. “They just kept us from being able to run any kind of offense smoothly.”

Coeur d’Alene Charter plays host to Priest River on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic School.

North Idaho Christian plays host to Lakeside on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic School.
