TRAFFIC: Job well done

| September 19, 2018 1:00 AM

Kudos to the Coeur d’Alene Press and Staff Writer Ralph Bartholdt for the timely article (Sept. 16) on the growing traffic problems in Coeur d’Alene. Citizen concerns about traffic have come to a head and actions are underway.

FYI — at Tuesday’s (Sept. 18) City Council meeting, citizens were planning to make an appeal to council to put a hold on any public hearings for major development projects in the Riverstone area until after the traffic study is complete.

(This is especially timely because the Rivers Edge development — proposing 870 apartments in multiple six-story buildings — is scheduled to come before the Planning Commission on Oct. 9, well before the traffic study is complete. The cart is way before the horse here.)

This is an issue with huge public interest that the Coeur d’Alene Press will want to provide continuing coverage of.

Thanks for continuing to provide good local press coverage in a high-quality daily publication.
