Catherine ‘Katie’ Willard, 88

Catherine “Katie” R. Willard, 88, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House of North Idaho. She was born March 12, 1930, to George and Rose Bowers in Allen, Kan., later moving to Eskridge, Kan. This is where both Mom and Dad grew up, met, and married on Aug. 31, 1947.

In 1952 they came to Idaho. While visiting family, they decided to stay and raise their family in North Idaho.

Throughout her life, Mom was a homemaker as well as employed. She had worked on the ranch and at the little Hayden market until becoming a sawyer, eventually retiring from Dellen Wood Products.

Family get-togethers were cherished by Mom. She loved talking about all the kids and reminiscing about days gone by. She was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for more than 50 years.

She is survived by daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Needham and Lisa (Brian) Pryer; sons, Bill Jr. (Marilyn) and James (Ruth); 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by our dad, Bill J. Willard Sr. and two grandsons, Andrew Willard and Scott Moore.

Graveside services will be held for Mom and our Dad, along with Military Honors at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Donations can be made in Catherine’s honor to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815 or www.hospiceofnorthidaho.org.
