Other election events scheduled for Cd'A

COEUR d'ALENE — Two other events related to the November general election will be held in Coeur d'Alene.

The Kootenai Environmental Alliance will host a free Kootenai County commissioner candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. at Art Spirit Gallery, 415 Sherman Ave.

Candidates will introduce themselves and answer questions generated by the audience.

Republican Leslie Duncan and Democrat Ruben Miranda are running for the District 3 seat to replace Republican Bob Bingham. Bingham was defeated by Duncan in the May primary.

Republican Bill Brooks is running uncontested for the District 1 seat after defeating Marc Eberlein in the primary.

The Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce's Legislative Forum will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn, 506 W Appleway Ave.

Pros and cons of Medicaid expansion will be discussed. Presenting will be Mike Baker, CEO, Heritage Health; Patricia "Patt" Richesin, president of Kootenai Care Network; and Rick Rasmussen, Northwest Specialty Hospital CEO.

There will also be a workforce training discussion and other issues of local interest presented by Lobbyist John Watts.

The cost is $20 and a light breakfast will be served. Reservations are required.
