REBUTTAL: Trump litmus test

| September 12, 2018 1:00 AM

To JUERGEN NOLTHENIUS. The Electoral College was created during the Constitutional Convention of 1787. It was widely supported. Any proposed elimination would never get close to SCOTUS.

Congressmen represent the people, where senators represent the state. The Electoral College was designed to give all states a say. Be it small or large. Otherwise a few heavily populated states would decide each presidential election. Most Americans would not be given a say.

Democrats use Super Delegates so your idea of your one person, one vote doesn’t even take place in your own party.

As far as the nomination of Merrick Garland, it is rooted in history that a lame duck president does not get to nominate a SCOTUS, as such an important post should not be from an outgoing administration.

Judge Kavanaugh’s hearings have only begun, yet you’re in the “no” camp already. Perhaps you should listen to the confirmation hearings prior to coming to such an important conclusion.

Obviously you hate Trump, believe he is an illegitimate president, and that he nominated Judge Kavanuagh as a get out of jail card for his upcoming impeachment. Hating a president is not grounds for impeachment. You offered no evidence. If there is evidence, then I will be right there alongside you in calling for his ouster.
