Retired educators invited to join group

| September 11, 2018 1:00 AM

North Idaho Retired Educators will begin the new season on Monday, Sept. 24, at the Post Falls Senior Center, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon meeting. The group would like to invite all retired educators, regardless of where they taught, to come and join.

They meet the fourth Monday of each month at the Post Falls Senior Center. There are some interesting programs planned, including a field trip tour in April, and a District Convention.

One of our local retired educators, Mona Alfrey, has been elected State President for the Idaho Retired Educators Association. She will be keeping the local group informed and included in planning for the Idaho State Meeting this year.

The local chapter has chosen to keep the same officers for this year. Doug Cresswell, retired Coeur d’Alene Superintendent, and Norma Seaton, former Kellogg High School teacher, will share the presidency. Mary Williams keeps the secretary’s responsibilities, and Ruth Spencer is treasurer. Karen Melton is the contact person, and all retired teachers are asked to call her at (208) 773-1349 to reserve a luncheon.

The program is an Orientation meeting to introduce the members, visit, review their career information and also introduce the year’s program schedule.
