SPOKANE — The North Idaho College volleyball team advanced to the championship match of the Community Colleges of Spokane tournament, falling to the tournament host Sasquatch 25-13, 28-26, 23-25, 25-14 on Saturday at Spokane Falls Community College.

“We had a great weekend, with great competition both days,” NIC coach Kelsey Stanley said. “We have made huge improvements from two weeks ago, and that’s what we were wanting to see. Spokane did a good job of executing their offense. We just couldn’t make adjustments fast enough. We have lots of work to do, but I’m excited with the direction we’re going in.”

Earlier on Saturday, NIC beat Edmonds 25-16, 19-25, 25-21, 25-22.

NIC (6-5) hosts Walla Walla on Tuesday in the Northwest Athletic Conference East Region opener for both schools at Christianson Gym starting at 7 p.m.
