Journey to Seattle with the Hayden Chamber of Commerce

| September 4, 2018 1:00 AM

The Hayden Chamber of Commerce and Laura Little Productions are offering a chance for 100 people to travel to Seattle Nov. 3 to experience the Tony Award-winning play, “Come From Away.”

In the days following the terrorist attacks of 9/11, when U.S. airspace was closed, the residents of a small town in Canada the size of Cheney, Wash., found themselves playing host to 38 international flights that were diverted and landed unexpectedly at the little airport in Gander, Newfoundland. The townspeople gathered their resources and opened their homes to feed, clothe and comfort nearly 7,000 passengers for five days.

The hit Broaday musical, “Come From Away,” co-produced by Coeur d’Alene’s Laura Little, tells their stories.

Travelers will board two chartered tour buses to travel to Seattle, enjoying culinary treats and refreshments along the way.

Little will join the riders and tell of her adventures, and a framed, cast and crew autographed poster from the show will be raffled.

After checking in at the fabulous Hotel Monaco, travelers will enjoy premiere seating as they attend a showing of the play at the 5th St. Theatre. with more surprises after the show.

The next morning will provide the guests with a few hours to do a little holiday shopping before returning to Coeur d’Alene.

The cost is $595 per person and $995 per couple. Only 100 tickets will be sold.

Contact the Hayden Chamber at 208-762-1185 or go online at haydenchamber.org to purchase your tickets.
