Pretzer scores late goal in Cardinal draw

TACOMA — Linnea Pretzer scored off a rebound in extra time to help North Idaho College salvage a 2-2 draw with Tacoma Community College in a nonconference match on Saturday morning.

In the first minute of stoppage time, NIC’s Tiana Cydell sent a cross that went on goal. Tacoma goalkeeper Kira Kearsley deflected the ball to Pretzer in front of the goal, and she scored the tying goal.

“We again show improvement, especially in the attack,” NIC coach Dan Hogan said. “It was really nice to get our first goals of the season to get a little confidence.”

Autumn Stewart scored off an assist from Ellory Ferris in the 16th minute for NIC (0-1-2), which faces Peninsula today in Port Angeles at 10 a.m.

Hailey Sargent scored two goals for Tacoma (2-2-1).
