ANNIVERSARY

Herb and Dolores Singer

65th Anniversary

Herb and Dolores Singer, married Aug. 21, 1953, in the Methodist Church in Rathdrum, celebrated their 65th anniversary with family. Both are graduates of Rathdrum High School. Herb retired from Kaiser Aluminum in 1984.

They started traveling in their “motor homes” several months a year for more than 30 years — having been to every state in the U.S. Some highlights of their trips were traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, touring the White House and gardens, Niagara Falls, Football Hall of Fame, up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty and Arlington National Cemetery. Then during the winters, they traveled to the Bullhead City and Yuma, Ariz., area.

They have two boys, Robert Singer (Chris) and Daniel Singer (Vickie); five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.

“We have been blessed with a wonderful family and great friends in our life and still reside in Post Falls.”

MILESTONE BIRTHDAYS

Clifford Eugene Chandler

100th Birthday

Clifford was born Sept. 5, 1918, in Imogene, S.D. He moved with his family, including three brothers and five sisters, to North Idaho in 1936. He proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy SeeBees.

After retail sales management training and lumber grading instruction, Clifford worked in management of retail lumber and building material yards. He enjoyed all aspects of the work of retail lumber yards including purchasing, selling, advertising, hiring, shipping and receiving, along with breaking down blue prints and inventory control. He also worked as a carpenter and remodeling contractor.

On Oct. 17, 1953, he married Grace Chandler and together they raised one daughter, Katherine.

In retirement, they enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona, dancing, playing cards and their many friends. He likes to sing and can sing songs and recite poetry from his childhood.

Clifford is a pleasant gentleman, never meeting anyone he didn’t like, and in turn, liked by all who ever met him. He and his wife of nearly 65 years reside in Hayden.
