BRANNON: For county clerk

I am writing to ask your readers to vote to re-elect Republican Jim Brannon for County Clerk. His opponent, Dan Gookin, is currently a CDA City Councilman, running as an Independent. Although Gookin knows better, he has intentionally incorrectly characterized the race as non-partisan. To the best of my knowledge, he has never managed anybody, let alone a complex organization.

On the other hand, Brannon has done a remarkably great job for nearly five years as our County Clerk. The Clerk oversees five diverse departments, Auditor, Recorder, County Assistance, District Court, and Elections. Since taking office, Jim has reduced his Department’s budget by 14.5%; at the same time efficiently improving service, online information for the public, and transparency to the taxpayers he serves. His challenger continues to make false accusations on a range of issues with the intent to mislead voters. Don’t be misled. Vote for Jim Brannon!
