Cd'A woman dies in crash in Washington

SPOKANE — A 20-year-old Coeur d'Alene woman died as a result of a head-on collision on Highway 2 near State Route 206 north of Spokane early Saturday morning.

According to Washington State Patrol, Chance J. Quesnell was driving a 2008 Kia Optima southbound at 3:57 a.m. when it was struck by a northbound 2008 Ford F-350 driven by Christopher M. McIlveen, 41, Chattaroy, Wash. Quesnell died at the scene.

The F-350 crossed over the center line, striking the Optima head on, according to police. McIlveen was driving under the influence and charged with vehicular homicide, police say.

Brayden J. Whiteside, 20, Spokane, a passenger in the Optima, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center and later discharged.

All occupants were wearing their seat belts.
