Michael Vincent Conlan, 74

Michael Vincent Conlan passed away on Oct. 25, 2018, at 2:45 p.m., in Little Rock, Ark. Michael was 74 years old. He was born on June 14, 1944, in Oakland, Calif., to Reba and Vincent Conlan.

Michael graduated from Oakland Tech High School in 1962. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. Michael began his law enforcement career with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office shortly after his end of service in the Army. He met and wed the love of his life, Patricia Grainger, in 1969. Michael and Patricia raised two children, Lance and Cheryl. Their family adventures took them from Livermore to Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska. Michael worked as an adult probation and parole officer in Anchorage and Dillingham, Alaska. In 2004, Michael retired from the State of Alaska, and he and Patricia moved to Hot Springs Village, Ark. Michael lived life with an uncommon zeal and vigor. His light touched countless people throughout his life and he will be greatly missed.

Michael is survived by his wife, Patricia Conlan; sister, Constance Christie and her husband, Dick; brother-in-law, Tom Grainger and his wife, Georgette; son, Lance Conlan and his wife, Patricia; daughter, Cheryl Conlan Stoddard and her husband, Noah; grandchildren, Shire, Haven, Steven, Haley and John; nephews, Terry Bonner, David Bonner, Patrick Bonner, Jason Grainger and Eric Grainger; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Nelli, Delilah, Kayden and Max.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
