Evelyn Violet Skogen, 86

Evelyn Violet Skogen passed away peacefully in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Oct. 22, 2018. She was born July 13, 1932, in Chicago, Ill.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Skogen and brothers, Edward and Richard Gebhard. She is survived by Linda (Dale) Johnson, Larry (Claudia) Skogen; sister, Sylvia Ballenger and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was very loved and will be missed by many.

Per Evelyn’s wishes, no services will be held.

This poem was written by a dear friend and was treasured by Vi.

To My Family

If I were going on a journey

Just miles and miles away

To see my home, once more some loved ones,

For a long and happy stay

I’m sure with cherry words you’d gather,

Forgetting self awhile,

You’d help me plan and get all ready,

And have a parting smile.

I soon must leave this earth for heaven,

Must say farewell to you.

Although my heart is sad at leaving,

I thrill at what is due.

Will I not enter heaven’s glories

My Lord and loved ones see?

I’ll not return, but you’ll come later;

Oh, rejoice with me.
