LETTER: And still laughing

| October 26, 2018 1:00 AM

I generally see nothing to laugh about in the typical far-right letter. However, last week Marvin George Miller wrote a hilarious one. He praised Trump for his high beautiful wall while scolding the Democrats for not approving the wall. On Oct. 10, I read that the Republican Congress will approve the wall at a cost to taxpayers of $23.4 billion.

Several paragraphs later, Marvin slams the Democrats for approving funds for NATO and the U.N. Following that diatribe, he quotes Trump as saying “hey, we’re broke, it’s time for others to pony up.”

Recently, I read (Business Insider) that Treasury reports the budget deficit grew to $779 billion in fiscal 2018 because of a decrease in revenue, a result of the GOP tax law. Oh, that Trump, ever so clever. Several days ago Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell blamed the deficit increase on entitlements; you know, your Medicare and Social Security. Next we will have the thrill of watching Trump take granny’s Social Security and Medicare and throw her in the street.

Meanwhile, do we know how much it costs taxpayers to fly Trump everywhere to campaign for the right?
