Jerusalem archaeologist to speak today

| October 26, 2018 1:00 AM

COEUR d'ALENE — Israeli archaeologist Eli Shukron will present his findings on the City of David Standing Stone and the foundations of the Western Wall in Jerusalem today at noon at the Pinkerton Idaho Wildlife Museum, 2000 John Loop, Coeur d'Alene.

The presentation is free and open to the public. If members of the general public want lunch, there is a $25 cost for the meal.

The event will be hosted by Pastor Tim Remington of the Altar Church and Living Passages, a Coeur d'Alene-based Christian tour company.

This marks the first time Shukron will speak in the United States. Shukron has spent most of his career working for the Israel Antiquities Authority and now can showcase the Holy Land’s archaeological dig sites. Many of those sites have been discovered by Shukron.

His best known discoveries and excavations include the Pool of Siloam, Jerusalem Pilgrim Road and the City of David Standing Stone, which he calls "Temple Zero."

Shukron was featured recently on the Jeremiah Johnston Show on Faith Radio in tandem with Houston Baptist University and the Bible Seminary, alongside Craig Evans, professor of Christian origins at the Houston Theological Seminary.

Shukron came to the United States at the invitation of Evans and Living Passages.

Shukron has been interviewed on CNN, FOX and many other news outlets while in Jerusalem.
