Looking for fun ways to celebrate everyone’s favorite candy-fueled holiday? See this year’s list of local haunts below.

DAILY

5-9 p.m. (Oct. 24 to Oct. 31) | Moonlight Monster Cruises. Enjoy a spooktacular, 45-minute cruise on Lake Coeur d’Alene full of Halloween fun including a costume contest, on-board haunted house and no-host bar for those 21 and up. SATURDAY, Oct. 27

1 - 2 p.m. | Halloween Storytime and Trick-or-Treat for a Book. Children up to age 12 are invited to come to the bookstore in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat for a children’s book and some treats! Available while supplies last. Free. 5-7 p.m. | City of Rathdrum Trunk-or-Treat. Safely trick-or-treat from decorated car trunks along Main Street in downtown Rathdrum. Contests and prizes for pumpkin carving, best-decorated trunk, and costumes. Free. 208-687-2399 ext. 132.

5-7 p.m. | Family Halloween at the Kootenai County Jail Museum. Take a tour of the “haunted” jail and see and try out a paranormal investigation team’s latest equipment. Trick-or-treating for the kids. Hosted by the Rathdrum Historical Society. 7940 W. Second St., Rathdrum. 208-625-0014.

5:30-8 p.m. | Fourth annual I-90 Autoplex Trunk-n-Treat. Join participating dealers Findlay Nissan, Findlay Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Midway Hyundai and Knudtsen Chevrolet for trunks of candy, games, prizes, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, free hot cocoa, free hay rides, and more. SUNDAY, Oct. 28

6-8 p.m. | Post Falls Lions Club Haunted House – Kids’ Matinee Night. Lights will be on for younger kids to enjoy trick-or-treating through the haunted house in a scare-free event. Admission is $3, and kids under 10 get in free. 504 E. Fourth Ave. 208-262-1122.

TUESDAY, Oct. 30

5:30 - 7:30 p.m. | Real Life Ministries Harvest Festival. Everyone is welcome to join this year’s festival, which includes live music, bounce houses, games, free professional family photos, and CANDY! A free, fun, safe and warm event. Located in Building 1 of the Post Falls campus, 1860 N. Cecil Road. 208-777-7325.

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 31

3-7 p.m. | Take a Ride for Halloween. The downtown Coeur d’Alene Carousel will be open to celebrate Halloween. All ages come and ride the ponies in your scary, funny, or outrageous costume. 439 Fort Grounds Drive. $2.

7-10 p.m. | Post Falls Lions Club Haunted House. $7 per person or $5 with a donation of two cans of food. 504 E. Fourth Ave. 208-262-1122.

4-6 p.m. | Trick-or-Treat Downtown. Safe family fun! Wear costumes and visit the businesses downtown for treats. Hosted by the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association. Free. Sherman Ave.

5-7 p.m. | Halloween fun at the Mall. Presented by Candlelight Christian Fellowship and Silver Lake Mall. Plenty of games to choose from, including ring toss, cake walk, miniature golf, fishing, obstacle course and bowling. Plus cookie decorating, animal balloons, face painting and a costume contest with prizes. Free. 200 W. Hanley Ave. 208-772-7755.
