TRANSPLANTS: Draining our resources

| October 24, 2018 1:00 AM

I really enjoy reading the opinions of other residents, particularly as election day approaches. It beats the drone of early morning news broadcasts and the revolving attack ads. Thank you all for your insight.

As a member of the working class, I like to be kept in the know on matters regarding the ultimate downfall under the socialism of America, so I’d like to thank the myriad of commentators as well.

My research regarding the masses shows an increase in migration is a dire sign. This isn’t the typical farm worker with no time or money to influence politics. It’s the majority of the 75,000 or so who are retirees wealthy enough to live better than most Idahoans. Say what you will about their contributions being in a higher tax bracket, but migration in any form is a drain on our valuable resources.

According to the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy (Idaho: Who Pays? 6th Edition), the most important resource, the working middle class raising families, is being forced to share the burden of taxes at a higher rate than ever before. Experts see this leading to everything from higher prices to demands for unionization.

Is it the straw that breaks the conservatives’ back? Apparently so. The president’s campaign mantra is to never underestimate the little guy who wants his voice to be heard.
