DEMOCRATS: Rise and shine

| October 24, 2018 1:00 AM

Let’s be honest. If we want significant progress on issues such as education, health care, the environment, fair taxation and wages, infrastructure, etc., we can’t keep sending the same people from the same dominant political party to Boise. Current legislative leadership appears unable or unwilling to seriously address these concerns.

Rebecca Schroeder is an Idaho native and a powerful advocate for health care learned from her years of advocating for her son who has a medical condition. She is an excellent candidate with a proven record of listening to people’s concerns and fighting for their needs.

Cory English was raised in Coeur d’Alene, is a physical therapist, and she and her husband, Dan, raised their children here. She is a thoughtful, articulate advocate for education, health care and services for families.

Shem Hanks was raised in Hayden, attended Christian schools, and now works in a business that provides educational and mental health support services for struggling young adults. He is a thoughtful young man and a strong advocate for education and mental health.

These three Idaho Democrats in District 4 are reasonable and moderate people who support the Idaho values of community, responsibility, education, freedom, fairness, independence and care for our neighbors. Maybe you like the status quo. But if you want Idaho to seriously begin to address its problems, let’s send these three candidates to Boise to make real changes and to restore common sense and political balance to our state government.
