Lorraine Marie (Allex) Elliott, 93

Lorraine Marie (Allex) Elliott, age 93, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Oct. 12, 2018, in Sequim, Wash.

Lorraine was born Oct. 19, 1925 to Henry and Selma (Womedahl) Allex, in Watford City, N.D. She married her high school sweetheart, Leo Duane Elliott, after he returned from World War II in 1945. Lorraine was a long-time resident of Spokane, Wash., and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and most recently in Sequim.

Lorraine was one of those special people that everyone loved immediately. Happy, jovial and true to the Allex clan, she was the life of the party, laughing loud and loving life. To Lorraine, the glass was always half full and the sun was always shining. She was a cheerful and hopeful person; she reflected a favorable view of events and conditions and she always kept faith in God.

Lorraine’s working life was as a retail clerk, including Rosauers #3 in Spokane and Safeway in Bremerton, Wash., retiring from Stein’s IGA in 1990. She loved to create and was gifted at everything she tried, like making quilts, porcelain dolls and doll clothing. Lorraine was always ready for any kind of game — board games, card games, yard games — and she was competitive at everything she did.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Duane Elliott (1965). She never stopped loving him and is finally united with him in heaven. She was also preceded in death by her father, Henry Allex; mother, Selma (Womedahl) Allex; brother, Marvin Allex; brother, Kenny Allex; sister, Joanne (Allex) Pfiefer; and sister, Mavis (Allex) Holo.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Jensen of Bismarck, N.D.; her son, Lane (Stacy Turnbow) Elliott of Las Vegas, Nev.; granddaughter, Meagan (Elliott) Long and great-grandsons, Connor and Austin Long; grandson, John Elliott; her daughter, Lana Elliott of Sequim; granddaughter, Renel Johnson and great-grandsons, Tevon Patterson and Dante Poindexter; her son, Lance (Beth Dickman) Elliott of Spokane Valley, Wash.; granddaughter, Bonnie Elliott (Marcus) Davis and great-granddaughters, Bella and Calleigh; grandson, Landon (Mariah Helgeson) Elliott and great-granddaughters, ShaylaRae and Amelia and great- grandson, Lincoln; her son, Link Elliott of Tacoma, Wash.; granddaughter, Bevan Elliott (Andrew) Kloppel; great-granddaughter Norah; granddaughter, Kirsten Elliott and fiancé Andy Seamster; great-granddaughters, Elliott and Emilynn; great-grandson, Oliver; and numerous nephews and nieces, especially Sally of North Dakota, who loved Lorraine like a mother and was so considerate and thoughtful during Lorraine’s last years.

Lorraine’s cremated remains will be buried beside her husband at the Pine Cemetery in Spokane Valley, Wash. Her memorial service will be scheduled in the spring of 2019. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, has been entrusted with her arrangements. Please sign Lorraine’s guest registry and view her online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com
