ELECTION: Feeling blue

| October 19, 2018 1:00 AM

This country is so divided that Republicans are sending mailers to terrify voters by claiming that you must vote for your Republican team to stop the socialist agenda of the liberal left. Really? If socialistic means health care (Medicare) for all, social security that each working American contributed to untouched, legal immigration at our borders without impairment, a living wage for all, etc., then I’m a socialist.

The crap (literally) bestowed on Cecil Kelly is a prime example of some Idahoans and fear of progressive ideas/ideals. Mr. Kelly has rightly called out Mr. Trump for his morally corrupt ideas and statements. I am offended that someone like Trump represents the presidency of the U.S. and me. This man is in it for the money. He couldn’t care less about us and our desire to lead productive middle class lives.

Kavanaugh is a prime example of this. He lied, Trump lies, everyone around Trump lies, and the lies go on. For a woman like Ms. Ford to be degraded and called a liar is typical of the mindset present in Washington government today. We need more women to represent the more than 50 percent of our population, and we need to vote out the tired old men with 1950s ideas of where a woman’s place is in this life.

I urge all voters to VOTE BLUE next month. The exception would be Bill Brooks. Although Republican, I believe he will represent every Kootenai County resident, which should be the goal of every officeholder in this state.
