Voters, note these deadlines

| October 18, 2018 1:00 AM

Two voting deadlines are coming up fast for the Nov. 6 election.

Voters who wants an absentee ballot mailed to them need to submit their request by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

Voters can click http://www.kcgov.us/elections/ to download the Absentee Ballot Request form. The form can be returned to the Elections office by mail, fax, or email. Kootenai County is paying the postage for mailed absentee ballots.

Voters who want to vote early, in person, can do so at the County Elections office Monday, Oct. 22 through Friday, Nov. 2.

The Elections office is at 1808 N. Third St. in Coeur d’Alene and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registered voters need to bring a photo ID with them to cast their ballot. Those who have moved or have had a name change must re-register. They must also bring a photo ID and proof of residency, such as a utility bill, bank statement or auto insurance certificate with the voter’s current residence address listed, dated at least 30 days prior to their voting date. These same requirements also apply to new registrants.

Voters with questions about their proof of residency documents should call the Elections office at 208-446-1030.
