PARKING: Ticket predicament

I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the parking ticket issues with the City of Coeur d’Alene. I went and paid a few days later. In June, I received another ticket and paid with cash. I took full responsibility.

However — beginning of September I got a notice from the City of Coeur d’Alene saying they never got my payment for my ticket in March. After tracking down my bank statement with the card payment, I went into the office and proved I had paid it. They apologized and said that they had a bunch sent out that had actually been paid and it was all cleared up.

A month later I get another notice for the June ticket, saying it was not paid. I called and explained that I did in fact pay this ticket with cash and what had happened with the first ticket. I was told it was taken care of and they apologized again for the inconvenience.

I checked my mail and I now have a full collection out for my ticket in June. I called the City and they wanted me to prove all my paperwork to them AGAIN. Now I am paying $26.60 to a collection agency for something I already paid.

This is extremely disappointing and frustrating to me as the public office should not be so disorganized. I hope that others in the community are not having to deal with this unfortunate inconvenience as I. We need better.
