Osburn man killed in crash on Highway 53

An Osburn man died Tuesday in a vehicle crash on Highway 53 near Chase Road, west of Rathdrum.
Brady Robert McPhail, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
The crash occurred before 1:15 p.m. when McPhail, who was traveling eastbound in a white 2010 Buick Lucerne, went into the westbound lane of travel.
Lonnie Lee Mann, 55, of Nebraska, was traveling westbound in a white Ford F-250 Super-Duty.
McPhail’s vehicle struck Mann’s vehicle head-on.
Mann was transported to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Per Idaho State Police, McPhail was not wearing a seatbelt. Mann was wearing his.
The roadway was blocked for three and a half hours. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is continuing.
