Ronald Nakonieczny, 77

Ronald Nakonieczny, 77, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Kootenai Health surrounded by family and friends. Born Aug. 7, 1941, to Mildred and Walter Nakonieczny. He grew up in Denver, Colo., to the age of 15 when the family moved to Oakland, Calif. He resided there until he enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1958, where he served his country honorably.

He met and married his first wife and fathered three daughters. He worked various jobs until he chose locksmithing as the vocation he wanted to pursue, which he did for years in Berkeley, Calif. He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1978 to join his father and brother-in-law at Walt’s Lock and Key, where he remained for 40 years serving the local community.

Ronald was active in the Marine Corps League and also at Christ the King Lutheran Church, where he dearly loved his Lord and being part of the church family and choir.

Ron leaves behind one sister and brother-in-law, three daughters, one granddaughter, two grandsons, one niece and nephew, and numerous relatives, step-children, step-grandchildren and a very cherished ex-wife/companion of many years. The family would like to thank everyone who loved Ronald as he loved everyone in return.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d’Alene, with a reception to follow.
