Kociela leads Cd'A Charter

BONNERS FERRY — Sophomore Madeline Kociela had 16 kills to lead a balanced attack as Coeur d’Alene Charter won its 3A district playoff opener 15-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-22 at Bonners Ferry on Monday night.

“It was fun to watch Maddie because she played so well,” Panthers coach Cynthia Beyer said. “She hasn’t connected this well the whole season, but tonight she just had kill after kill.”

Megan MacKinney had 12 kills and 4 aces for Charter (9-9), with Chloe Turnbull adding seven kills. Rylee Peterson had 7 aces, Mackenzie Simkins had 15 assists, and senior Hannah Burt had 15 digs for the Panthers, who resume district action at 7 tonight at Timberlake.
