ADDIS: For state House

| October 14, 2018 1:00 AM

In this hyper-polarized election season, sometimes emotions can take over rhetoric. Partisan politics aside, I’m supporting my friend, Jim Addis, for Legislative District 4. Jim’s long track record supporting and advocating on behalf of Coeur d’Alene has earned my vote.

Jim will talk with anyone on any issue and he has illustrated that he can bring people together. I’ve been an advocate for finding common ground in order to benefit our community. I’ve admired how Jim has brought people to the table to find solutions that work for our area. I believe Jim will strike the right balance of Coeur d’Alene viewpoints while representing us in Boise.

Most importantly, Jim is Coeur d’Alene-minded. He’s supported numerous organizations that deliver much needed support for children in crisis or impacted by trauma. Jim has observed firsthand that there are needs in education on multiple levels that go unmet. He has dedicated his time to the EXCEL Foundation, a group that provides privately raised dollars to fund school programs that would otherwise go unfunded within the Coeur d’Alene School District. He is also an advocate for Children’s Village. His family is committed to honoring students who are achieving goals necessary for success in life. He serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club, a phenomenal resource for kids who will benefit from a positive structured environment, that has a proven track record of making a difference in a young person’s life.

I know it is tempting to base votes on political emotions this year, but I believe the better bet is to vote for someone who can navigate Boise nimbly with our community interests at heart. Please consider voting Jim Addis for District 4.
