Timberlake completes unbeaten run through IML
SPIRIT LAKE — McKeeley Tonkin had 26 assists, five digs and two aces, and the Timberlake Tigers completed an undefeated run through the Intermountain League with a 25-12, 25-19, 25-13 victory over the visiting Bonners Ferry Badgers on Tuesday night.
Brooke Jessen had 14 kills and three digs for Timberlake (22-9, 8-0 IML). Kenzie Dean had 18 digs, two kills and two aces, Taylor Suko six kills, Kyndal Lindley six digs, five kills and two assists.
Bonners finished 2-6 in league.
Timberlake plays host to Monday’s Coeur d’Alene Charter-Bonners Ferry winner on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at home in the first round of the 3A District 1 tournament.

Lakeland
COEUR d’ALENE — Ashley Kaufman, one of four Timberwolves honored on senior night, totaled 12 kills, 10 digs and five aces as Lake City swept the visiting Hawks 25-15, 25-18, 25-7 in nonleague play.
Junior Janae Rayborn added 10 kills and four aces for Lake City (27-1). Senior Klaire Mitchell had 28 assists and two blocks, senior Reilley Chapman 10 digs, senior Claire Heberer two blocks.
Lake City totaled 16 aces and just six service errors.
“We served aggressively again,” Lake City coach Mike Summers said. “I thought the girls did a good job keeping (the emotions of senior night) in check.”
Daphne Carroll had eight kills and three digs for Lakeland (19-13). Katy Ryan added seven kills and three blocks, Abbey Neff 13 assists and five digs, Summer Powell eight digs, Olivia Cooper seven digs, Jenny Wirtz three blocks.
“They made some real scrappy plays on defense,” Summers said of Lakeland. “They kept coming at us; they didn’t back down. It seems like they’re moving in the right direction.”
Lake City plays host to fourth-seeded Post Falls on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the 5A Region 1 tournament.
Lakeland, the No. 2 seed, plays host to No. 3 Moscow on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the 4A Region 1 tourney.

PRIEST RIVER — The Panthers finished 1-7 in Intermountain League play with a 25-13, 25-12, 25-18 loss to the Spartans.

Fifth-seeded Coeur d’Alene Charter (8-8) travels to fourth-seeded Bonners Ferry in a 3A District 1 tournament loser-out match on Monday at 6 p.m.
Priest River is 5-3 in league and be the second seed to districts. The Spartans will face third-seeded Kellogg on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Timberlake in their district opener.

Lakeside
PLUMMER — In a back-and-forth match, the visiting Miners had the momentum last in a 25-13, 14-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-11 victory over the Knights in North Star League play at Ron Miller Court.
Glory Olson had eight kills and six aces for Lakeside (7-7, 5-5 NSL), and Alyssa SiJohn had 28 assists.
“It was kind of a momentum thing,” Lakeside coach Brad Veile said. “They had trouble receiving our serves at times, and we had trouble receiving their serves at times.”
Lakeside will be the third seed at the 1A Division II District 1 tournament at Clark Fork on Oct. 20. Top-seeded Clark Fork will play at 10 a.m. against the winner of a play-in match between Mullan and Kootenai earlier in the week. Lakeside will face No. 2 seed Genesis Prep in the next match, and the two winners will square off in the next match for the district title and the lone berth to state. Since Clark Fork went undefeated in the league, the Wampus Cats will have to be beaten twice that day to be eliminated.

CLARK FORK — The North Star League champion Wampus Cats (15-5, 10-0 NSL) swept the visiting Warriors (2-12, 1-9) 25-13, 25-6, 25-9 on senior night.
Fourth-seeded Kootenai plays host to fifth-seeded Mullan on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the loser-out first-round of the 1A Division II District 1 tournament. The winner joins the other three North Star teams Oct. 20 in Clark Fork to complete the tourney.
