Road closures on the St. Joe Forest

| October 11, 2018 1:00 AM

Road closures on the St. Joe National Forest may affect hunters heading into the woods for the general elk season.

South of Avery, the Fishhook-Gold Center Road (No. 301) is closed until mid to late October for public safety as rock fall hazards in the historic Fishhook Tunnel are repaired.

The closure includes Fishhook Road 301 from the intersection of the Old River Road at the St. Joe River to the intersection of the 753 Road at Lick Creek Road. Alternate routes are posted on the Idaho Fish and Fame and the Panhandle National Forest websites.

In the Homestead area, two new bridges have been built on Forest Service Road 216 between Marble Creek and Breezy Saddle. Road 216 will remain closed as road improvements continue through mid-October.
