WENATCHEE, Wash. — North Idaho College remained within striking distance of an Northwest Athletic Conference East Region title, beating the Wenatchee Valley Knights 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

NIC (7-3-4, 7-1-2 NWAC) remains tied with the Community Colleges of Spokane for the East lead.

Sahkora George scored twice in the second half for NIC, which finished with 17 shots in the match.

“The score was tied 0-0 at half, but not for want of opportunities,” NIC coach Dan Hogan said. “But some excellent goal keeper play by the Knight goalie and some near misses kept us off the scoreboard.”

Melissa Decker capped the scoring in the 83rd minute for NIC, which hosts Yakima Valley at Eisenwinter Field on Saturday starting at noon. Yakima Valley handed NIC its lone lost in conference play earlier this season.
