David Lee Lindahl, 77

David Lee Lindahl, age 77, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died Oct. 5, 2018, at the North Idaho Hospice Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene. David was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minn. to Wes and Mabel (Bernard) Lindahl. In 1945, they moved to Farragut Naval Base in North Idaho. David graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1960 and then from North Idaho Junior College in 1962. He then received his B.S. degree in education from the University of Idaho in 1965. In 1971, David earned his master’s degree in education from the University of Oregon. David loved teaching. He taught in Buhl, Idaho for three years before moving and teaching in Junction City, Ore., for 30 years.

On June 26, 1965, he married Ann Barnard in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. David and Ann were active members of the Community United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene. He also was a volunteer at the Kootenai Humane Society Thrift Store.

David is survived by his loving wife, Ann of Coeur d’Alene; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Shelley of Portland Ore.; grandsons and spouses, Spencer and Kelsie, and Skyler and Bess; great-granddaughters, Ramzi, Rori and Lenyx; brother, Dennis of North Bend, Ore.; and sister and brother-in-law, Loree and Ron Mensch of Spokane, Wash. David was preceded in death by his parents, Wes and Mabel Lindahl and son, Clayton.

Memorial service for David will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at the Community United Methodist Church, 1470 W. Hanley Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Community United Methodist Church.
