Grace Lillian (Walker) Jorgenson, 101

Grace Lillian (Walker) Jorgenson passed away Oct. 3, 2018, in Hayden, Idaho, at Hayden Country Guest Home, where she had resided for the last seven years.

She was born June 6, 1917, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Henry (Harry) and Gertrude Fralick Walker.

Grace married Henry Jorgenson on Jan. 1, 1936, in Robin Hood, Saskatchewan, Canada, and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, that year. They were married 56 years until Harry’s death in 1992. She was a homemaker and later worked as a housekeeper at the Desert Hotel in Coeur d’Alene. Grace and Harry were members of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughter Mariam (Red) Janusch; sons Daryl Jorgenson and Ernie (Karyl) Jorgenson; grandchildren Berry (Arlene) Janusch, Shari (Paul) McCallister and Brad Jorgenson; and great-grandchildren Lani (Jake) Newell, Max (Allison) Janusch, Eli (Isabella) Janusch, Nick, Natalie and Andrew McCallister. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren Clark, Clive and Rosie Newell; sister Laura Beauchamp; and several nieces and nephews in Canada.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; parents; brothers Roy and Ernie Walker; and sister Edna Walters.

The family would like to thank Dawn Hayden and the staff at Hayden Country Guest Home for the wonderful care she received while residing there.

At Grace’s request, there will be no services. English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. A private burial will be at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
