Cutler carries Charter over Coeur d'Alene JV

COEUR d’ALENE — Kiley Cutler had a goal and assist, leading the Coeur d’Alene Charter Panthers past the Coeur d’Alene junior varsity 5-1 at Coeur d’Alene High on Thursday.

“What a fun game to coach, watch and play,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Stacy Smith said. “This is certainly the fastest team we’ve played against. They made us work really hard at marking up and playing quickly through the midfield and on the back line. I’m pleased how we started both halves today. We came out hungry for goals at the beginning of both havles and that just set the tone for the rest of the game.”

Ava Shivers had two saves and an assist for Coeur d’Alene Charter (15-0), which travels to Grangeville on Saturday at noon.

Madison Klundt scored on a penalty kick for the Coeur d’Alene JV in the 39th minute.

Timberlake (9-4-1) opens the 3A District 1-2 tournament on Monday at 4 p.m. against Bonners Ferry at Sunrise Rotary Field.
