Colton Wyatt Steele, 22

Colton Wyatt Steele was, born in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, on June 11, 1996, to Norm and Sabrina Steele.

He was raised in Post Falls, Idaho, with his brothers, Zachary and Dakota and sisters, McKenzie, Averee and Shyanne.

Colton attended Post Falls High School and New Vision Alternative School. He worked at Huntwood, as well as the Post Falls Haunted House, where he ran the saws. Colton loved spending time in the outdoors with his family. He also loved working on cars, building things and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his devotion and love of family, his valued friendship and earned respect.

Colton was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Pete Montemayor; great-grandparents, Bud and Dorothy Long, and Grandma, Delaine Lewis.

Colton is survived by his parents, Sabrina and John Fernquist and Norm and Colene Steele; a daughter; his brothers, Zachary (Ashley) and Dakota; sisters, McKenzie (Ryan), Averee and Shyanne; grandparents, Pat Montemayor, Don and Linda Moss, Rick and Alta Steele, Vi and Everett Martin, Robert Lewis and Sandra Martz; aunts and uncles, Jodie Montemayor, Yolanda (Corey) Williams, Pete (Barbie) Montemayor, Richie (CJ) Steele and Edie (Mazen) Nemri; cousins, Alec and Keaton Steele; along with numerous other aunts; uncles and cousins.

There will be a public candlelight vigil in Colton’s honor at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Castle Park in Post Falls.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Colton’s name can be made to the Post Falls Food Bank.
