Bourque, a 6-foot, 230-pound senior kicker from Lake City High, was named Special Teams Player of the Week for the NAIA North Star Athletic Association. Bourque was perfect on his kicking attempts, coverting field goals of 22 and 31 yards, as well as three extra-point attempts. Bourque is 38th in the nation in total scoring (kicking) with 24 points and 45th in total field goals made (2). Bourque is a senior cyber operations major.

Story, a redshirt junior from Coeur d’Alene High, won the women’s race of the Montana Invitational on Sept. 28 at the University of Montana golf course, finishing in 18 minutes, 5.60 seconds, leading the Vandals to a team championship.

Diego Esquivel

Community Colleges of Spokane soccer

Esquivel, a freshman from Post Falls High, was named the Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Sept. 27. Esquivel had game-winning goals against Columbia Basin and Walla Walla to put Spokane into a three-way tie for first in the East Region. “Diego is a dynamic player that loves competition and scoring goals,” Spokane coach Kenny Krestian said. “Following a slow start ot the season, in which Diego has started all nine matches, he now has four goals and two assists to lead the team in points. We are excited to watch Diego improve over the second half of the season as he continues to help his team improve as well.”

Huddleston, a junior outside hitter from Coeur d’Alene High, is second on the Grizzles (6-10, 3-1 Big Sky) with 110 kills, appearing in all 16 matches — starting 12 — this season.
