Uncork the possibilities and help child victims of abuse and neglect

| October 3, 2018 1:00 AM

On Friday, Oct. 19, North Idaho CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will host Uncorked at the Hagadone Event Center, an intimate fundraising experience, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

The event will feature wine-themed silent auction lots. Unique auction items include a Montana ranch adventure or a multi-course, private dinner with wine for eight at Vine & Olive Eatery and Wine Bar. The biggest raffle item is a Wine Tree, sponsored by Bank CDA, that includes 50 bottles of wine.

Tickets are $125 per person, and include a prime rib dinner (or vegetarian option) with open bar for the first hour of the event. Tables for eight are available for $1,000. New this year is an opportunity for 10 different businesses to sponsor VIP tables for $1,200.

CASA depends on individual donations, local grants and business sponsorships to make up a majority of its operating budget that is not covered by grants from the Supreme Court.

As reported by the City of Coeur d’Alene Police Department, there has been a 56 percent increase from last year in calls related to child abuse or neglect. This sets the stage for CASA to train and retain more advocates in order to ensure every child victim of abuse and neglect has a voice.
