Andra Jean Uecke

Andra Jean Uecke was born Aug. 7, 1959, to Irving Williams and Dee (Acree) Williams, in Monroe, La. When Andra was three years old her family moved to California. She attended and graduated from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

In 1985, she was united in marriage to Chris Uecke and this union was blessed with two daughters, Alexandra and Rachael. The couple built a successful business named Hometown Construction, and welcomed their first daughter, Alex in 1986. Due to changes in business and Andra’s health, they relocated to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In 1992, they were blessed with a second daughter, Rachael.

Andra loved animals and worked as a licensed veterinary assistant in California. Her family will smile and remember Yogi, Pooh, Goldie, and Kiki. She also was a talented artist and loved the ocean and beaches of California.

However, Andra pursued other interests in Idaho. She worked as a licensed cosmetologist and was a certified dental assistant. She finally found her “happy niche” that encompassed her love of business, art, and style. Hippie Cat, a vintage clothing store, was born in Coeur d’Alene, which was voted best vintage clothing store in the Northwest for many years. She operated the store successfully until her health forced her to close.

In recent years, Andra struggled with life issues, yet through it all she deeply loved her family and devoted friendships. She died Sept. 18, 2018 in Hilo, Hawaii at the age of 59 years.

Andra is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alexandra (Patrick) Hearn of Hilo, Hawaii and Rachael Uecke of Henderson, Nev.; a granddaughter, Lucy Hearn of Hilo; her mother, Dee (Floyd) Pierce-Shaver of Post Falls, Idaho; her father, Irving (Betty) Williams of Ark.; sisters, Janice (Jerry) Hernandez of Kansas and Loretta Tenbrink of Topeka, Kan.; brothers, Randy Williams of Nampa, Idaho and Russell (Katie) Williams of San Antonio, Texas; stepbrothers, Ray Pierce of Santa Barbara, Calif. and Jack Pierce of Bakersfield, Calif.; special people of support, Chris, Bud and Barbie; many nieces and nephews; and family and friends and many others that will miss her. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Manning and Elaine Acree; and paternal grandparents, Herman and Dorothy “DD” Williams.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ, 6439 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.

Blessed and eternal be her memory.
