Strobel leads Cardinal men to tie for second at Puget Sound tourney

BREMERTON, Wash. — Freshman Dawson Strobel tied for fourth to lead the North Idaho College men’s golf team to a tie for second at the Puget Sound Invitational, which concluded Sunday.

Strobel shot 74-72—146, 3 over par in play at the Olympic Course (par 72) and the Cascade Course (par 71) at Gold Mountain. Freshmen Bo Knittel and Nick Roberts also had top-10 finishes.

NIC’s men shot 595, tied with Whitworth and 17 shots behind winner Pacific Lutheran. NIC was the only two-year school in the tournament.

NIC’s women finished sixth out of seven teams. Jessey Simons of NIC tied for 15th. The women played the Cascade Course both days.
