Lynn G. Marks, 88

Lynn G. Marks, 88, of Hayden, Idaho, passed away May 24, 2018, at Schneidmiller Hospice House on Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born June 2, 1929, in Conda, Idaho. Parents were George and Bertie (Skinner) Marks.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank and Clyde.

Lynn moved with his parents to Clancy, Mont., and attended grade school. Lynn then moved to the Hayden area with his family in 1940. He finished grade school at the one room school on Rimrock and attended high school in Rathdrum, Idaho, where he played football and did some boxing. He also was a 4-H member in the dairy program.

Lynn worked for the Idaho Transportation Department until he entered the Army and served in Anchorage, Alaska. Returning home, he worked for the Idaho Transportation Department again until moving back to his childhood farm in 1957. He worked for the local highway department for a short time then back to the Idaho Transportation Department until retirement.

He married Cora (Vandeventer) on Aug. 13, 1955, in Alaska. In 1957 he moved to his childhood home in Hayden, where he raised his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping throughout his lifetime.

His surviving family includes wife, Cora; children, Shirley Marks, Danny (Tammy) Marks and Ron (Lisa) Marks; sister, La Priel; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., on Friday, June 1, 2018, at Yates Funeral Home — Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.
