CALDWELL — Former Lakeland High star Derek Bayley won his second straight Idaho Golf Association men’s amateur match play championship, routing Auburn and former Eagle High golfer Graysen Huff 6 and 5 in the final Monday at TimberStone Golf Course.

Bayley, who recently completed his career at Washington State, led 6-up after seven holes, thanks to a pair of eagles. He shot a 7-under 29 and led 6-up at the turn, and finished the match on the 13th hole.

He completed the round to see if he could set the course record, and wound up tying Huff’s course record with an 11-under 61.

Bayley went 5-0 in the 32-man bracket.

In the semifinals, Bayley won in 19 holes over Hunter Ostrom who, three years ago as a junior at Bishop Kelly High, won the state 4A tournament at The Links.
