Northern Lakes wins opener at Missoula tourney

MISSOULA, Mont. — Jack McDonald went 3 for 5 as the Northern Lakes Mountaineers “A” team beat the Butte Miners 7-4 on Saturday at Maverick Field to open play at the Missoula Mavericks Memorial Day Tournament.

Cole Strietzel hit a two-run double in the seventh inning for the Mountaineers (2-1). Colton Aragon went 2 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.

Northern Lakes is scheduled to play Vauxhall Academy and the Bozeman Bucks “AA” team today.
