The Well-Read Moose celebrates fourth birthday

| May 25, 2018 1:00 AM

The Well-Read Moose in Coeur d’Alene is celebrating its fourth anniversary May 31 through June 2.

The independent book store will offer sangria and prosecco specials all weekend.

A special Moose Tales session, the store’s storytime for children up to 6 years old usually held Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m., will take place Saturday, June 2 at noon.

This Saturday Moose Tales will feature llama llama books, the popular series now also featured in an animated show on Netflix, with free cupcakes to celebrate the Well-Read Moose’s fourth birthday.

For the grownups, there will be a reading and book signing Friday, June 1, at 6 p.m. with Montana author Christine Carbo, who wrote “The Wild Inside,” “Mortal Fall” and “The Weight of Night.”

Carbo will be debuting her fourth novel, “A Sharp Solitude.”

Publishers Weekly says Carbo’s new book “paints a picture of complex, flawed people fighting to make their way in a wilderness where little is black or white.”

Author events are free, no purchase is required, although books will be available for purchase and to have signed by Cerbo.

The Well-Read Moose is located in Riverstone at 2048 N. Main St. For information, call 208-215-2265.
