Paula Sims, 68

Paula Sims passed away on Monday, March 21, 2018, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Sims; her parents, Edwin and Edna Mae Fisher; and her older sister, Rosie Marie Friend. She is survived by her three children, Robert, Christi and Lindell; three grandchildren, Cassandra, Gabrielle and Courtney; and one grandson, Roman.

Paula, 68, was born June 8, 1949 in Los Angeles County, Calif.

Paula was a brilliant light in this world too soon gone. From daughter and prom queen, to student of nursing, wife and loving mother, to an obedient warrior of God, Paula’s light touched all those she met. As a young woman, she spent time in Mexico ministering to those in need and continued to spiritually support others throughout her life. She had a kind spirit that brought many people together and touched so many lives.

She was a beautiful person both inside and out. She was insightful and caring, always ready to just listen and provide a shoulder to cry on, give advice when required, or bring hilarity to the situation; whatever was needed in the moment. She had a wicked-funny sense of humor. She loved letting her hair down (and later her wigs), enjoying the good times with friends and family. Laughter, love, and life! She will certainly be missed here on earth, but surely she is dancing with the Lord in heaven. Until we meet again …

An informal memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 31732 S. Mission Road, Cataldo, ID 83810.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
