MILL SITE: Well done, Cd'A

Kudos to the City of Coeur d’Alene for completing their purchase of the 47-acre former mill site on the Spokane River. Their farsighted thinking will enable them to respond to the public’s desire for preservation of open space, trails and public access along the riverfront. Now it will be up to City officials to see that this dream becomes a reality through comprehensive planning to ensure that any development on the site will offer high public value, not just economic return. This is a once-in-forever opportunity that most cities can only dream of.
