Sally Erline Bohn, 83

Sally Erline Bohn, 83, of Hayden, Idaho, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 15, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Spokane, Wash., to Earl A. Anderson and Marie A. (Monson) Anderson. As a child, Sally’s family lived in Spokane before moving to the family farm in Fernwood, Idaho, where Sally’s younger years were spent. She moved to Spokane to live with her aunt and attended John Rogers High School, graduating in 1953.

While playing in the front yard of the farm she met her future husband, Archie R. Bohn. He had recently been discharged from the Army, and while driving his recently purchased red 1949 Dodge convertible, he stopped and asked her for a date, which she promptly replied, “you’ll need to talk to my father.” He did, and they were married on Aug. 9, 1953. They celebrated 54 years of marriage just before his death in September 2007. The two made their home in Potlatch, Idaho, raising a daughter, Roxanna, and a son, Douglas.

Sally and Archie enjoyed camping, boating, and spent many, many hours building their cabin at Hayden Lake. In 2004, they sold their lake home and moved to the city of Hayden, Idaho. Other activities that Sally loved were bowling, snow skiing, gardening and flower beds and sewing for her kids, grandkids and others. She loved traveling in her motorhome. She loved attending her grandkids’ and great-grandkids’ activities.

Sally was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and regularly attended Sunday services. She was a deacon, belonged to the knitting group that makes prayer shawls, and was in charge of refreshments for memorial services and various other activities.

Sally is survived by her two children, Roxanna Nagle and her husband, Mike of Potlatch, Idaho, and Douglas Bohn and his wife, DeeAnn of Hood River, Ore. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Nancy Luy (John) of Quesnel, B.C., Canada; two brothers, Jim (Cathy) Anderson of Fernwood, Idaho, and Bob (Gail) Anderson of Middleton, Idaho; and four nieces and six nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Archie R. Bohn; her father, Earl A. Anderson; her mother, Marie A. Anderson; and one brother, Jerry Anderson.

A funeral service was held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene, and burial followed at Freeze Cemetery in Potlatch, Idaho. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church (New Building Fund) 521 E. Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
