Alan James Stone

Alan “Butch” Stone was born Dec. 22, 1943, in McCloud, Calif., and passed away at Spokane Hospice North, in Spokane, Wash., on Jan. 28, 2018, at the age of 74 after a long illness.

Alan served in the Marine Reserves and retired after working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

He is survived by his two sons, Ian (Christy) of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Seth (Brenda) of Everett, Wash.; and two grandsons, Jayden and Nathan. He is also survived by his brother, John Stone of Chewelah, Wash., and three sisters, Joan Hester, Linda McGrath and Judith Hinds, all of Spokane. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marion LaBute-Stone, as well as his mother and father, and brother, Eugene.

A celebration of Butch’s life will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Pines Mausoleum Chapel, 12116 E. 16th Ave., Spokane Valley, Wash. All friends of Alan’s are welcome.
