Xavier Patrick Flynn

After less than three short months on earth, Xavier Patrick Flynn joined God and His angels in heaven on May 13, 2018. Xavier passed away quietly in his parents’ arms at UC Davis Hospital, in Sacramento, Calif., where staff fought for his life after he was struck by a falling tree branch. His last hours were spent being told how much he was loved, and being cuddled by his family.

Xavier was born on Feb. 15, 2018, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The third child, and first son of Andrew Flynn and Jessica (Gisla) Flynn, of Post Falls, Idaho, Xavier was welcomed with joy by his extended family. From the very first he had the face of a gentleman, and he proved to be a wonderful baby. He especially loved smiling and laughing at his sisters. They, in turn, adored him!

Xavier was baptized into the Catholic Church on Feb. 24, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, in Coeur d’Alene. He was confirmed in the Catholic Church on May 12, 2018, at the hospital, shortly before he left us, receiving the confirmation name Andrew.

Xavier is survived by his parents; his sisters, Anastasia and Rosalia Flynn; his grandparents, Patrick and Anne Flynn of Kennewick, Wash.; and Benedict and Robin Gisla of Hilmar, Calif.; and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins.

Xavier’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Reception to follow the burial at St. Thomas Reception Hall, also in Coeur d’Alene. There will be a rosary at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joan of Arc Building Fund, 773 N. 11th St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814, in Xavier’s name would be very meaningful to Xavier’s family.
